Finding Cheap Accommodations While Building A House
64Finding Cheap Accommodations
Picture this, you are trying to build your dream home and your budget is tight, so where do you live while you are building it?..
Cheap accommodations can be hard to come by, but there is a way to live cheap and still be able to afford your dream home.
RV living! Now before you hit the back button, finding a cheap RV is one of the easiest ways to get cheap accommodation while building your house. There are many pros and cons to this, but I know we did this, and not only saved money, but were available on site while the house was being built for any questions, problems and insurance. We actually saved money on the building insurance since we were living on site.
It was an adventure for the kids and the pets, that has not been forgotten yet! In order for this to work, you need to find a cheap and older RV, but still in working order. Ours was not even licensed for the road anymore. We purchased it, and got a trip permit to drive it to our lot. The inside appliances etc, all worked fine. We paid 4400 dollars for this RV, and when we were done building our house, we sold it for 4800 dollars.
I think the next buyers were purchasing it for the same reason we did! It can be hard to find an apartment that will rent to you for 4-6 months, and living with relatives is not always the way to go. If you can afford to hold onto two houses, then go for it, but we had sold ours and had to be out before we even broke ground on the new one.
RV’s make cheap accommodations while building a house, and worked great. Put as much as you can into storage and then just think of it as one big camping trip!
