Pets are a part of our families, and we take good care of them, but what do we do when they have “accidents” on our carpets?

You can run to the store and purchase harsh chemicals and carpet cleaners, but the best carpet cleaners for pet stains, just might be sitting in your kitchen right now. If not, these are inexpensive ingredients to have on hand and this works well.

The best carpet cleaner for pet stains, works best on a wet stain. So, if you catch your pet doing their business on your carpet, remove them right away and show them the proper place to go, but then keep them out of the room while you get rid of this pet stain.

You need a few ingredients, that are worthwhile keeping on hand, if you have pets, but you can try this on most carpet stains. Club Soda, Baking soda, paper towels, newspapers and a plastic bag, some weights.

Take your paper towels and try and soak up as much of the pet urine as possible. Throw these in the plastic bag. Now take some fresh paper towels and lay them on the spot, and then layer some newspapers on top of that and put a weight on it. This should soak up any remaining wetness. Dispose of these in the plastic bag. (You don’t want to leave these laying around or your pet my get confused messages).

Now take your club soda and pour it right on the center of the area. It should flood the urine and follow its same path. This will neutralize the urine and smell. Now take your paper towels and try and soak up the excess, and then do the same thing with the layer of paper towels and newspaper and a weight to soak it up.

Once you have soaked up the club soda treatment, then take some baking soda and sprinkle on the spot quite liberally. Then leave it overnight. Don’t let your pets in that room. Next day, vacuum the spot. This should neutralize the odor and also get rid of the pet stain.

This can be the best carpet cleaner for pet stains. If the stain is dry, you can try starting at the club soda stage. It has been known to lift dry stains too. But the sooner you get at a stain the better.
