Fix Bad Walls

If you have bad walls, you know the type, bumps and lumps, holes, rips in the drywall, and are looking for a way to fix it on the cheap.  Then check out these ideas.

1.  If you have a lot of imperfections in your wall, then head over to your local hardware store, and go to the paint department, and more specifically, the drywall repair section, and you will find tubs that look like paint, called "textured paint".  These are fantastic at covering everything in your drywall.  There are different types of textures you can create from these products.  Just make sure you read the tub, and get the right one.  You put this on with a roller, and it reminds me of putting icing on a cake.  It just rolls right over those nasty parts on your drywall.

You can then paint this textured wall with regular paint, once it is dry.  There was a texture that I quite liked called "sand" texture.  Which was not too thick looking but enough to give my wall new life.  You can also get creative with this product and make your own look with a spatula or scraper.  You can give it an "old world plaster look" on the cheap!

2.  Here is one, that is more for your personal taste, rather than for reselling your house, but is just as effective.  If it is one wall that is bad, clean it as best you can, then create a large grid on the wall with pencil, and let your kids and their friends each paint something in a square.  This looks like a great piece of art when it is done.  Don't forget to get them to sign it.  No one will notice the bad wall with this great art!
